OpenSoar Version v7.44.24 (2026/09/13)

ATTENTION: This is the final version of OpenSoar, which was forked from XCSoar three years ago and subsequently reintegrated step by step. Future versions (from 7.45.25 onwards) are based directly on the current XCSoar, supplemented by a few additional features. However, it is important to note that OpenSoar aims to integrate all useful and proven features into the main XCSoar project (upstream).

This is Git-Version (Git-Tag) v7.44.24 of OpenSoar, but don't push any own commits after this because the base will be rebuild! The hash of this state is 'ff94d37f9a', normally you will seen this in the splash screen/info page!
Differences from XCSoar: see below

OpenSoar Windows:

• OpenSoar.exe (Win64-Version)
• OpenSoar32.exe (Win32-Version)

OpenSoar Linux:

• OpenSoar (Linux-Version)

The Linux executable is still missing the deb installation package - it may not run due to missing dependencies (this is a work in progress, don't need to be reported to me)

OpenSoar Android:

This is a signed Android version!
If it isn't possible to update the previous version please deinstall this old version (complete with data) - and install again! If you want to reuse the data folder: Save this data and reset it again in folder (Internal)\Android\media\de.opensoar!

Different from the XCSoar 7.44:

• 1st SkySight integration for forecast charts and live images (satellite and rain), unfortunetaly not available on targets Kobo, Apple and (Mac and iOS) yet, but on Android, Windows and Linux! On OpenVario only the live images available - no forecast yet!
• Becker radio driver (WIP)
• Larus driver for wind displays (variometer driver ist still available in XCSoar yet, but without instantious wind)
• anemoi driver for wind and horizon display
• FreeVario driver for variometer display and control (WIP)
• a special serial driver controlling SteFly RemoteStick with possibility to set various key layouts (WIP)
• OpenVario menu item in Setup Menu (WIP)
• Program restart possible without closing (for Profile change, rotation change, event file change ... and such things)
• Use a FrequencyCard to collect all important frequencies (team, airspace, important airports and other) in a simple textfile (*.xcf) to set the active or standby frequency at your radio in a very fast way.

(WIP) means: Work In Progress: This isn't really ready up to now, it should work, but here there is some review missing!
